The conference will be preceded by a workshop aimed at graduate students and postdocs in the mathematical sciences who have a fundamental interest in PDE methods and applications.

4.Symmetries of Differential Equations: Frames, Invariants and Applications. A conference in honor of the 60th birthday of Peter Olver

The main topics to be addressed are symmetries of differential equations and variational problems, with special emphasis on moving frames, Cartan theory of differential forms and invariant theory. Also Hamiltonian systems, integrable systems including solitons will be treated, as well as applications of symmetry-based methods to image processing, fluid mechanics and elasticity.
